Evolutionary Systematics launches GBIF-hosted data portal

Pensoft has partnered with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) to launch a series of data hosted portals for 25 of its open-access journals, enhancing the accessibility and reusability of biodiversity data associated with them. This initiative underscores the shared commitment of both Pensoft and GBIF to fostering a more open, integrated, and connected scientific ecosystem to facilitate global exchange of knowledge.
The data portals, hosted on the GBIF infrastructure, are designed to support the use of biodiversity data at various scales, catering to a diverse audience. By providing a user-friendly interface, these portals enable seamless access and exploration of biological occurrence data extracted from published articles, alongside the associated datasets and article citations. Users can narrow down their queries using a range of search categories, including geography, taxon, and conservation status, and access statistics about the data.
The Evolutionary Systematics data portal currently features 14 datasets and over 150 occurrences.
